PESHAWAR: The Excise & Taxation (E&T) Department on Monday said that the display of personalized-vanity number plates has been banned through amendment in Motor Vehicles Ordinance, 1965.
Therefore, all the legitimate subscribers of personalized-vanity numbers have been advised in their best interest to stop displaying personalized-vanity number plates and to start displaying their regular number plate issued by the Excise & Taxation Department to them under sub section (6) of Section 25 of Motor Vehicles Ordinance, 1965. A deadline of 30th September 2010 has been set in this regard and violation of this law will be fined Rs. 10 thousand under sub section (9) of section 25 of Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965.
