The British DVLA Personalized Registrations announced today that it has sold the 1OOO number plate for 80,000 GBP. The 1OOO number plate fetched the 80,000 GBP this morning and amazed everybody by getting ten times the reserve price at the auction that took place at the Haycock Hotel in Wansford, Cambridgeshire.

The second place, after the 1OOO, was the 1 LFD number plate which sold for 20,000 GBP. It seems some people have ran out of ideas for what to spend their money on…

“The year could not have got off to a finer start, we were hoping for big things from 1 OOO and the registration delivered. Roll on the rest of the year which will see other triple O plates coming into the fray.”, said Damian Lawson, DVLA Personalized Registrations’ Marketing Manager.

DVLA Personalized Registrations second three-day auction of the year will be staged at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United, from Wednesday, March 24.
