PETROL stations across Doncaster are on their guard to catch a driver who fills up but doesn’t pay for the fuel – because his car is fitted with false number plates.
Police are appealing for information to help them trace a car involved in a number of drive-offs at filling stations across the borough.
The blue Rover 25 displaying the false registration plate of YL04 LJJ committed nine drive-offs during December and January.
One man is believed to be responsible. He is described as white in his late 20s and of a medium build. He has short dark brown or black hair, and wears blue jeans and a blue and black tracksuit-style top.
